League position: 17th This was Brighton and Hove Albion's biggest home league defeat since an 8-2 defeat against Bristol Rovers in League Division Three on 1 December 1973 when Brian Clough was their manager. The Seagulls had now lost four of their last six home games in the Premier League (won one), one more than they had lost in their previous 17 games at the AMEX Stadium in the division (won nine). Albion had now lost and failed to score in each of their last four games in all competitions.
