League position: 23rd This was Birmingham City's first game following the sacking of manager Lee Clark. This created a new record for City's biggest-ever home defeat. The Blues' club record defeat is 9-1 at Blackburn Rovers in January 1895 and at Sheffield Wednesday in December 1930.Comments:
League position: 4th This victory created a new club record for AFC Bournemouth's biggest-ever league win. The previous best was 7-0 against Swindon Town in the Third Division (South) on 22 September 1956. They did beat Northampton Town 10-0 at the start of the 1939-40 season but was subsequently expunged due to the outbreak of war. The Cherries record win in all competitions is 11-0 against Margate in the FA Cup on 20 November 1971. It was only the tenth time in Football League history that an away team had won a game by a margin of eight goals or more.
