League position: 20th Aston Villa had now avoided defeat in consecutive Premier League games for only the second time in this season. Villa had now scored only five goals in the first-half of their 22 Premier League games in 2015-16. Mark Bunn saved Riyad Mahrez’s 33rd minute penalty. Scott Sinclair replaced Jordan Ayew in the fifth minute of added time in the second half. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Aston Villa’s goal against Leicester City on Saturday 16th January 2016 has been confirmed as a Rudy Gestede goal. League position: 1st Leicester City returned to the top of the table having now scored in 14 of their 15 away games in the Premier League in this season. The Foxes had now been awarded nine penalties in the Premier League in this season (no other team had been awarded more than four) but Riyad Mahrez had missed the last two.
