Comments:

League position: 4th This was Arsenal's second win in their last seven Premier League games. Theo Walcott's goal was the 100th that the Gunners had scored in all competitions in this season. Olivier Giroud had now scored more goals (five) as a substitute than any other player so far in this Premier League season. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: "We come out of a difficult period and our confidence goes quickly and comes back slowly. We have a little handicap on the points front. We have less possibilities to drop points."

Comments:

League position: 15th West Ham United had now lost five consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since May 2011. The Hammers had now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 12 away games in the Premier League. United now had 33 points from 31 games so far in this Premier League season; 18 fewer than at the same stage in the previous season. West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic: "Of course we are in a relegation battle. We don't have to hide it. It's not being negative, it's being realistic. I told the players to forget today. We have big games ahead of us. It's a massive game against Swansea on Saturday. We are in a fight to keep our Premier League status."
