Comments:

League position: 2nd Theo Walcott's goal was his 100th for Arsenal in all competitions and Arsenal's 100th goal in 2015. Olivier Giroud had now scored 12 goals in his last 14 matches for the Gunners in all competitions. After 17 games, Arsenal now had a total of 36 points. They had only had more points at this stage of a season in the Premier League in 2007-08 (40 points) and 2003-04 (39 points). They had now scored in each of their last 11 Premier League games.

Comments:

League position: 3rd Manchester City had now lost five games in this Premier League season. The last team to lose five or more games in the top division before Christmas Day and go on to win the league title was Everton in 1986-87. [Opta] City were now without a win in their last five away games in the Premier League. Yaya Toure's late goal meant they had avoided failing to score in four consecutive Premier League away games for the first time since February 2006.
