Comments:

League position: 3rd Arsenal had now won six penalties in the Premier League this season so far. They were awarded just two in the whole of the 2015-16 season. The Gunners had now scored in each of their last 16 Premier League games; the longest current such sequence in the division. Alexis Sanchez was now the first player to score two or more goals in three consecutive Premier League appearances against the same team since Thierry Henry against Charlton Athletic in 2002. Alexis Sanchez converted the penalty to score his second goal in the third minute of added time in the second-half. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "We were resilient, focused and organised, but a bit with the handbrake on as we were under pressure to win the game. In the end perhaps we were fortunate to get away with a positive result."

Comments:

League position: 18th Hull City had now gone 12 Premier League away games without a win; the joint-longest current run in the division this season along with reigning champions Leicester City. Two of the Tigers' three red cards this season in the Premier League have come against Arsenal; Jake Livermore in the reverse fixture. City had now have failed to score in 12 of their 25 games so far in this Premier League season; more often than any other team. Sam Clucas was sent off in the first minute of added time in the second-half for handball and conceding a penalty. Hull City manager Marco Silva said: "They started the game better than us and after the story of the first-half they score with handball. We didn't deserve this result."
