Comments:

League position: 9th Arsenal had now won their last seven home Premier League games; their longest such run at home since 4 April 2015 (nine wins). Alexandre Lacazette became only the second Gunners player to score in his first two home games in the Premier League after Marouane Chamakh. Arsenal had now won their last 24 home games in the Premier League since October 2008 against teams who started that day in the relegation zone. After 81 minutes and having used all their three substitutions, Arsenal were reduced to ten men when Francis Coquelin had to leave the pitch due to injury. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: “I’m pleased with the win and the way we played. It’s always a test when you have such a negative experience, like we had, for the mental health of the team to respond. We had a committed, disciplined and a very good offensive performance."

Comments:

League position: 19th AFC Bournemouth had now lost their opening four league games in a season for only the third time in their history (1983-84 in League Division Three and 1994-95 in League Division 2). The Cherries became the ninth team to lose their four opening games in a Premier League season and the first since Southampton in 2012-13. They had now lost six of their last seven Premier League games played in London. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "That was not very good, I've got to be honest. I can't hide it. We were disappointing from start to finish. We've got a lot to work to do. If you dip in levels you will get punished in the Premier League. We were not good. We have no points, we have to dig deep and find some character and show what we are made of."
