Comments:

League position: 12th AFC Bournemouth had now scored 31 goals in their home games so far in this Premier League season; only Tottenham Hotspur (43), Everton (41), Liverpool (41) and Chelsea (39) had scored more. Josh King had now scored 11 goals in the Premier League in 2017; only Romelu Lukaku (14) and Harry Kane (12) had scored more. The Cherries had conceded two goals or more in seven of their preceding eight home games in the Premier League. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "Our aim was to come out fast and create a high tempo, and it was difficult for Middlesbrough to handle it after the sending-off. We were disciplined and saw the game out well."

Comments:

League position: 19th Middlesbrough had now failed to score in ten away games so far in this Premier League season; more than any other team. Boro were now the only team in the top five European leagues who had yet to win a league game in 2017. They were now without an away win in their last 16 away games in the Premier League and lost eight of the last ten. Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew said: "In a way, we lost the game in the first ten minutes. We gave ourselves a very difficult afternoon after conceding those two early goals and going down to ten men against a very good team who score a lot of goals at home."
