Comments:

League position: 13th This was the seond time that Callum Wilson had scored more than one goal in a Premier League game (also a hat-trick against West Ham United on 22 August 2015). Callum Wilson became the first Englishman to score a hat-trick in this Premier League season. AFC Bournemouth had yet to lose a Premier League home game against a newly-promoted team (won six) and had now won the last six in a row with an aggregate score of 21 for and three against. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "I’m very pleased with the performance and the players. We made a really strong start to the game, it was difficult in the early stages, but the first goal was a turning point. The incident on half-time, changed the game from us and we managed the period after that and until our third goal really well. It was an interesting half-time, we were able to set our game plan out. They also had half-time to implement what they wanted to do."

League position: 10th Since winning their first-ever Premier League away game 3-0 at Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season, Huddersfield Town had now failed to score in any of their next five away league games. Martin Cranie started a Premier League for the first time in ten years and three months since playing for Portsmouth against Manchester United on 15 August 2007. They conceded four goals in an away game for the first time since a 4-0 loss at Bristol City in the League championship on 17 March 2017. Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner said: “I think, and I know it sounds crazy, but I think we’ve played one of our best first-half’s of this season. We created good chances, defended well and played on the front foot but found ourselves 2-0 down at half-time. Goals change games, we must blame ourselves as we didn’t use our opportunities."
