Abbey started the 2000-01 season at Cambridge United with a flourish and scored five league goals before suffering a dip in form.
In December, he moved on to Norwich City for a substantial fee and made an immediate impact for the Canaries.
Although regularly in the squad, he was often used as a substitute, netting his first goal for his new club in the home game against Queens Park Rangers.
A pacy centre forward who can also operate in a wide role, his excellent close control enables him to go past defenders with ease.
He also possesses an excellent spring in his jump that allows him to beat much taller players in the air.
Abbey joined Torquay United in March 2005 on a short-term contract.
Rejoined Arlesey Town in July 2009 as Assistant Manager.
