An amazingly mobile, fierce competitor, with immense energy and drive, a broken leg ended his career. Later United manager (1969-70). Wilf was fortunate to miss the Munich tragedy as he was nursing an injury. He won two England caps in the immediate aftermath in Duncan Edwards' position of left half.
