This skilful midfield player joined Mansfield Town in the summer of 2000 having been acquainted with Stags' manager Billy Dearden from their time together at Port Vale.
Apart from occasional losses of form, he appeared regularly for the Field Mill club in 2000-01, contributing some spectacular goals, notably in the Worthington Cup tie at Wrexham and the home game with Exeter City in February.
On the latter occasion, he cut in from the touchline, beat three defenders and scored with a great shot from 20 yards out.
He is a speedy left winger who crosses the ball well and was a great asset to the Stags in 2000-01.
Wayne was made available for transfer by Mansfield Town in January 2005.
He joined Scunthorpe United with a contract to June 2006.
After a loan spell, Wayne joined Leyton Orient in July 2006 with a two-year contract.
