Over 250 appearances for his three clubs. Wayne had another frustrating season at Fulham in 2000-01, as he was unable to break into the first team on a regular basis. He was named as a substitute on no less than a dozen occasions but he only came off the bench twice to add to a handful of starts in league games although he was still a very valued member of the first team squad. A versatile player he can appear in either full-back position or in a variety of midfield roles.
Wayne was made available for transfer by Crewe Alexandra in February 2003 before his Alex contract was cancelled a month later.
