Full name is: Marcos Andre Batista dos Santos Vampeta.
Vampeta recently returned to Corinthians from Flemengo. It is the second spell at the club where he was a member of the team that won the World Club Championship in January 2000 and two Brazilian titles. The much-travelled midfielder began his career with Vitoria in 1992 and has also served PSV Eindhoven, Fluminese, Internazionale and Paris St Germain. Probably the most surprising selection by Luiz Felipe Scolari, reports suggest that Kleberson and Gilberto Silva will still be ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. Nonetheless, his solid defensive work and accurate passing means that Vampeta remains worthy of his place in the World Cup squad.
