A player with a true professional attitude to the game, quiet man Trond was plagued with injuries at Southampton last season, and a persistent groin problem sidelined him for over six weeks. Although not a regular in the side he remained an important cog in the wheel and always performed to the maximum of his abilities. Given a free transfer in January, he was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday where he performed well enough to gain a permanent deal in March. He settled in straight away at Hillsborough and with his former colleague Carlton Palmer became the driving force behind the Owls' revival towards the end of the campaign. He netted just one goal for Wednesday but made a great impact at the club. He is a hard-working midfield player who is strong in the tackle and has good ball-control skills.
