PositionMidfielder

Grant had to wait patiently for his first chance of regular Premiership football in 2000-01.

After a single appearance as a substitute when he replaced Richard Edgehill in the home defeat by Coventry City in August 2000, he was sidelined for six weeks with a stress fracture of the foot, before joining West Bromwich Albion on loan as cover for the injured Derek McInnes.

He made a handful of appearances for the Baggies and although boss Gary Megson was keen on a permanent deal he subsequently returned to Maine Road.

Grant was back in the first-team squad in the New Year, featuring from the subs' bench in the home game against Leeds United and appearing more regularly towards the end of the campaign as Joe Royle's team fought unsuccessfully against relegation.

He is a hard-tackling midfield player with excellent vision and the ability to deliver a measured pass.

Grant joined Bristol City in August 2005 on non-contract terms.

His contract at Crewe Alexandra was extended to June 2007 in May 2006.

Grant joined Accrington Stanley as player / coach in January 2007.

He joined Chester City in July 2007 with a one-year contract.
