Gallimore was once again the first choice left back for Grimsby Town in 2000-01 but was dogged by injuries that caused him to miss several matches. However, he recovered fitness in time to feature for the Mariners in the vital run-in to the end of the campaign and played an important role as the club staved off the threat of relegation from the First Division. He is a solid defender with a powerful left foot who is capable of making useful runs down the flank.

Gallimore's contract at Rochdale was extended to June 2006 in July 2005.
