The midfielder made his Sheffield Wednesday debut in senior football against Nottingham Forest in September 2000 and went on to feature regularly for the Owls in the first half of the 2000-01 campaign.
Tall and skilful his strength in the air proved to be useful both in defence and attack.
Tony scored with headers in consecutive games against Watford and Norwich City in November 2000 and looks to have an excellent future in the game.
Tony joined Grimsby Town in June 2003 on a three-year contract.
