England international Tommy Smith was nicknamed the 'Anfield Iron' - one of the toughest defenders to grace Anfield.
With Liverpool, he was a First Division title winner in 1964, 1966, 1973, 1976 and 1977, FA Cup winner in 1965 and 1974 and runner-up in 1971 and 1977, League Cup runner-up in 1978, European Cup winner in 1977, European Cup Winners' Cup runner-up in 1966 and UEFA Cup winner in 1973 and 1976.
