Tommy Robson joined Chelsea from Northampton Town and moved on to Newcastle United after a year.

He returned to his native Tyneside from Chelsea as a replacement for Alan Suddick on the left wing.

Tommy was outstanding in the 1967-68 season when his 11 goals steered Newcastle towards European qualification for the first time.

He went on to make a club record 559 appearances for Peterborough United.
