Michael Black's brother, Tommy Black became a crowd favourite at Crystal Palace although he struggled to tie-down a regular place at Selhurst Park.
Tommy joined Crystal Palace from Arsenal in the summer of 2000 along with another young player Julian Gray shortly before Steve Coppell departed as manager.
He was mostly used on the wide right-side of midfield where his pace and ability to deliver accurate crosses proved most effective.
His performances soon made him a crowd favourite and he was rarely absent from the first-team squad throughout 2000-01.
Tommy agreed a new four-year contract with Palace in May 2003.
He joined Southend United in July 2007 with a one-year contract.
