Despite making a goalscoring international debut against Saudi Arabia in December 1994, Tomasz had to wait another six years for his second cap and has still to establish a regular place for his country. He started his career as a striker but after moving to Switzerland in 1995 with Grasshoppers, Lugano and Young Boys, he gradually grew in to a midfield role. He moved on to Holland with De Graafschap in 1997 before joining Feyenoord two years later. Soon after his arrival with the Rotterdam club he was switched to the left back role, and it is likely that he will provide cover for Michal Zewlakow in that position in Japan and South Korea. He was part of the Feyenoord team that won the UEFA Cup in 2002.
