This second-year trainee made steady but unspectacular progress at Torquay United in 2000-01. He made three appearances from the subs' bench in the early part of the campaign when he was used as a striker, but after returning to the Gulls' youth team, he switched to playing in the centre of defence.
Tom holds the ball up well and is strong in the air although it still remains to be seen in which position he will be used in the future.
