Tom Kennedy's father Keith also played for Bury and he is the nephew of former Newcastle United and Liverpool left back, Alan Kennedy.
He signed a contract with Bury up to June 2006 in March 2004 that was extended to June 2007 in May 2006.
Tom joined Leicester City in July 2010 with a three-year contract that was cancelled in August 2012.
He joined Barnsley in September 2012 with a contract to January 2013 that was then extended to June 2013 and to June 2015 in May 2013 before it was cancelled in July 2014.
Tom re-joined Rochdale in August 2014 with a contract to January 2015 that was then extended to June 2015.
His Dale contract was extended to June 2017 in June 2015 before it was cancelled in May 2016.
