Having spent the 1999-2000 campaign coming to terms with the demands of Third Division football Thomas was looking to gain regular first-team football last season. He featured in a handful of early season games before unfortunately suffering a broken leg playing for the reserves in September and the injury kept him out of action until the summer. He is an attacking midfielder with some good touches who makes effective use of his height and pace. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire in October 2001.
