Full name is: Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior.

An exciting, attacking left back, despite many excellent performances, Sylvinho's progress at Arsenal was hampered by injury and the emergence of Ashley Cole.

He netted a vital goal in Arsenal's opening Champions' League game against Sparta Prague in September, jinking past several defenders before firing past the 'keeper.

His fantastic skill, strong tackles and pinpoint distribution have enabled him to break into the Brazil national squad.

He won a place in the PFA's Premiership team selected by his fellow professionals.

Sylvinho joined Manchester City in August 2009 with a one-year contract.
