A talented left winger, he made his senior international debut against Malta in September 2000 and went on to feature regularly for his country.

Elliott's contract at Hull City was extended to June 2007 in September 2004, then to June 2008 in June 2006.

After a loan spell, he joined Doncaster Rovers in July 2008 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in December 2009.
