Having played no part in the qualifying programme, Steven was a late entry in to coach Morten Olsen's squad. A member of John Jensen's team that won the Danish Championship for Herfolge BK in 2000, his international hopes seems to have been resurrected since moving to Lyn Oslo in November. The early part of his career took him to Vallensbaek, Glostrup IC, Vordinborg and Naestved. Steven, who is a qualified electrician, has attracted the attention of Sunderland and Portsmouth in more recent times.
