As a young striker, Steven continued his progress in Crystal Palace's reserve side in the 2000-01 season, his achievements including a four-goal tally in a 5-4 win over Norwich City reserves in April 2001.

He made a brief appearance for the first team when he came on as a substitute for the second period of extra time in the Worthington Cup Fourth Round tie against Tranmere Rovers.

The game went to a penalty shoot-out and Steve achieved his moment of glory when he scored from the deciding spot kick.

He also came on as a late substitute against Norwich City in February.

Steven's contract at Sheffield United was extended to June 2008 in January 2006.

He was made available for transfer by the Blades in December 2006 and he joined Watford in January 2007 with a contract to June 2009.

Steven joined Brentford in August 2009 with a one-year contract.

His contract at Barnet was extended to June 2013 in July 2011 before it was cancelled in April 2013.
