Vickers was in excellent form for Middlesbrough last term and was one of the few players at the Riverside to enjoy a decent run of form even when the team were struggling. A very dependable 'stopper' centre half he gave his best at all times and produced some quality performances. His strong tackles and hefty clearances were just what the situation required and although he enjoys going forward for set pieces to try and nick a goal, he failed to find the net during the season.
