Tutill formed an effective partnership with Tutill Blatherwick at the centre of Chesterfield's defence last season. He featured regularly until suffering an achilles injury in December that failed to clear up and eventually required corrective surgery. Tutill is powerful in the air and shows more composure on the deck than might be expected of a lower divisions defender. Due to an achilles injury, Tutill announced his retirement in May 2002.
