This talented young midfield player returned to the Crystal Palace first-team squad in October 2000 but struggled to win a place in the starting line-up.
Strong in the tackle and an excellent ballwinner, the highlight of his season was undoubtedly his goal in the 3-0 Worthington Cup victory at Leicester City - a brilliant strike from 30 yards out.
Steve joined Peterborough United in September 2003 on a one-year contract which was extended to June 2005 in December 2003.
He joined Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2008 with a contract to June 2010.
