This Halifax Town youngster was rewarded with a two-and-a-half-year professional contract when Paul Bracewell took over as manager in October 2000 and later that month he made his Football League debut when he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 home defeat by Hull City. A promising striker he made a couple more appearances from the subs' bench before continuing his development in the reserves.
