England international Steve McMahon left Everton in 1983, joining Aston Villa. He signed for Liverpool in 1985 becoming the second player to captain both Everton and Liverpool. A brilliant playmaker Steve McMahon led Liverpool to victory in the 1st Division Championship in 1986, 1988 and 1990, the FA Cup in 1989.
