West Ham United's club captain was in excellent form in the first half of the 2000-01 campaign but then had the misfortune to suffer a bad knee injury in January 2001 and this forced him to miss the remainder of the season.
A very effective ball winner on the right-hand side of midfield his searching runs from box-to-box often caused problems for the opposition.
He was a regular for Northern Ireland when fit and captained the side on occasions.
Steve was made available for transfer by Queens Park Rangers in May 2006.
He was made available for transfer by Gillingham in January 2008.
