Guinan started 2000-01 by signing a new two-year contract for Plymouth Argyle but, although he played regularly in the early games, it was not until the end of September that he scored his first goal.
He then found it difficult to hold down a place in the starting line-up and the majority of his subsequent appearances came from the subs' bench.
Guinan, who is a tall and powerful striker, extended his contract at Cheltenham Town to June 2007 in July 2006.
He was made available for transfer by Northampton Town in May 2010.
