Adams was one of several promising youngsters at Plymouth Argyle but had a frustrating time with injuries in the 2000-01 season.
A versatile player who can play either in midfield or defence, his main attributes are his pace and the accuracy of his passing.
Adams followed his former Argyle boss Paul Sturrock to Sheffield Wednesday in March 2005 with a contract to June 2007.
