Stefan Oakes

Date of birth06 September 1978
Place of birthLeicester
NationalityEnglish
Weight78 kg
Height1.80 m
PositionMidfielder

After making great strides at Leicester City during 1999-2000, Stefan found it more difficult to establish himself in 2000-01.

A handful of appearances, mostly from the bench, gave him little opportunity to settle into any rhythm in the first team, although one glorious 50-yard pass, that completely bamboozled West Ham United's Ian Pearce to set up a Robbie Savage goal at Filbert Street will live long in City supporters' memories.

He underwent a hernia operation in January 2001, but was soon back in action and enjoyed a brief run in the squad in the closing stages of the campaign.

A right-footed midfield player with genuine ability, Stefan is the younger brother of Scott Oakes and son of Showaddywaddy star Trevor Oakes.

Stefan joined Notts County in February 2004 with a contract to June 2005.

His contract at Wycombe Wanderers was extended to June 2008 in November 2006.

He joined Lincoln City in July 2008 with a two-year contract that was cancelled in March 2010.
