A United 'great'. The Rowley-Pearson axis was the scourge of defences. Highly skilled, two lovely feet and a fine header, the 'classic' inside forward. In 1948 he scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup semi-final, then the winning goal at Wembley. In a rare England appearance in April 1952 he silenced Hampden Park with two stunning goals, helping England to a 2-1 victory. He won a League title (1952) and FA Cup (1948).
