Simon Davies broke into the Tottenham Hotspur first-team squad in the second half of 2000-01 and impressed with two smashing goals in the 4-0 win over Stockport County in the FA Cup.

He went on to score in the 2-1 win over Bradford City in April and with a stunning right-foot shot in the defeat at Leicester City the following month.

Brimming with confidence and favouring a role as an out-and-out striker role, he continued to represent Wales winning four more Under-21 caps before stepping up to win his first full cap as a substitute in the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine in March and then replacing the injured Robbie Savage in the starting line-up for the return game in Kiev.

Simon joined Fulham in January 2007 with a contract to June 2010.

His contract at Fulham was extended to June 2013 in August 2010.
