Clark joined Colchester United in July 2000 and was appointed club captain for last season. He performed consistently well for the U's, shaking off the effects of a mid-season car accident to lead the team by example. A defender who is dominant both in the air and on the ground, he was usually employed on the left-hand side of a three-man back line. Clark was released from his Layer Road contract in January 2002 and soon joined Woodlands Wellington in Singapore.
