Brown began the 2000-01 campaign as first choice 'keeper for Colchester United and retained his place until Andy Woodman arrived from Brentford in November.

He also played in the humiliating FA Cup defeat by Yeovil Town, when Woodman was ineligible, but appeared only once in the second half of the season.

Brown remained a promising young goalkeeper who is an excellent shot stopper.

Brown joined Hibernian in July 2004 on a three-year contract.

He joined Brentford in July 2007 with a two-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2008.

Brown joined Northampton Town in September 2009 with a four-month contract.
