Moved to West Bromwich on loan in February 1996. Move made permanent in March.
Shane can feel very satisfied after another steady season for Stockport County in 2000-01.
Although playing mainly at left back, he occasionally featured in midfield for the Hatters as he chalked up 37 league and cup appearances during the campaign.
A calm defender who tackles solidly and can push down the flank to deliver a useful cross, he was due to be out of contract in the summer and moved to Sheffield United for the 2001-02 season.
Shane joined Chesterfield in July 2004 on a one-year contract that was extended to June 2006 in December 2004 then to June 2007 in May 2006.
