McFaul, who is a Republic of Ireland Under-16 international, signed his first professional contract with Notts County in February 2004.
It ran up to June 2006 but was cancelled in October 2005.
McFaul joined Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2008 with a contract to June 2008.
