All in all, 2000-01 was quite a season for the combative Derby County midfielder.

Generally operating on the left-hand side of midfield, his no-nonsense style earned him numerous yellow cards but there was a marked maturity in his play during the campaign.

An automatic first-team choice for Jim Smith, he also showed himself as an able deputy for Darryl Powell as team captain when called upon.

Injury forced him to miss six weeks of the action at the turn of the year.

He can also play as a left-sided wing back when required but it is in midfield where his passing abilities are put to best use.

A regular in the England Under-21 set-up, he became the first County player to represent his country at full international level for nine years when he came on as a second half substitute in November's friendly in Italy.

It was almost a dream debut as his first touch of the ball forced a great save from the opposing 'keeper.

Seth's contract at Leeds United was cancelled in August 2005.

He returned to Derby County with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2007 in January 2006.
