Evers began the 2000-01 campaign at Reading where he was confined to reserve-team football apart from a single first-team appearance in the Worthington Cup first round first leg tie against Leyton Orient. He was loaned to St Johnstone in October and featured in a handful of games for the Scottish Premier League club before returning to the Madejski Stadium. Still unable to break into the Royals' line-up he moved on to Plymouth in March where he featured mostly from the subs' bench in the closing weeks of the season. A busy bustling midfielder with some neat touches he will be aiming for a return to the form he previously displayed in his spell at Luton Town next term.
Evers was released from his Plymouth contract in August 2002.
