Sean Davis was undoubtedly one of the success stories for Fulham in 2000-01 when he finally established himself as a regular in the first team.
Given the responsibility of being the holding midfield player, he responded brilliantly.
Not only did he prove to be an effective link between defence and attack, he also got forward to score some of the most important goals of the season.
His injury time winner at Blackburn Rovers made promotion a near certainty, while his superb strike that earned a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday made certain of the First Division championship.
His excellent progress was recognised when he stepped up to make his debut for England Under-21s against Finland in March.
He was also honoured by his fellow professionals with a place in the PFA First Division team.
Sean joined Tottenham Hotspur in July 2004 with a four-year contract.
He joined Bolton Wanderers in July 2009 with a three-year contract.
He announced his retirement in September 2012 due to a knee injury.
