This solid central defender bounced back from a disappointing 1999-2000 campaign with a series of powerful performances for Cardiff City in 2000-01. He missed just one league game and revealed his hidden talents as a goalscorer, scoring ten times thus more than doubling his previous career total. He was a major contender for the club's 'Player of the Year' award and was only just edged out by Andy Legg.
Scott announced his reirement in March 2004 due to a back injury.
