Scott Oakes

Former England U-21 international with about 150 club appearances under his belt. Having recovered from serious knee injury Scott was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of 1999-2000 and spent some time on trial at Burnley at the start of last season. He then had a brief period training with Crystal Palace before joining Cambridge United on a non-contract basis at the end of August. He featured in a number of games for the U's either on the left or centre of midfield and improved with every match. Despite looking comfortable on the ball and showing great composure in the centre of the park he was released in the summer and joined Leyton Orient but his injury led to his contract being terminated in November. Scott is the brother of Stefan Oakes and the son of Showaddywaddy guitarist Trevor Oakes.
