The former Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper joined Clyde from Ferguslie United. Scott was again second-choice 'keeper at Reading in 2000-01 and was unable to displace Phil Whitehead, being limited to a couple of first-team outings in the LDV Vans Trophy games at Hereford United and Swansea City.
He appeared regularly in the Royals' successful reserve team and made an appearance in the Avon Insurance Combination Cup final against Norwich City.
A tall and well-built goalkeeper, he has excellent reflexes and is a fine shot stopper.
Scott was made available for transfer by Shrewsbury Town in May 2005.
